SMS confirmation and appointment reminders for therapists: what goes out, and when
Which SMS Zenpage sends to your clients, when, with your Twilio account, and how the day-before reminder goes by email. The point to know.

An SMS is read in seconds, even by a client who never checks their emails. That's a strong argument for reducing no-shows. But you need to know precisely what Zenpage sends, and when, before counting on it to replace your reminders.
What goes out by SMS
Zenpage sends an SMS to the client when their appointment is confirmed. The message includes the practice name, the service, the date, the time and the booking number. If the service includes a video call link, it is added to the message.
This sending only triggers if SMS is enabled for your account and a Twilio account is entered.
Set up the Twilio account
In the settings, open the SMS (Twilio) tab and enter your Twilio account credentials. The Twilio account belongs to you: you see your usage and invoices at Twilio.
The identifier and authentication token pair lets someone send SMS on your behalf. Don't share it with anyone by email or in a shared document.
The day-before reminder goes by email
This is the point to remember: at present, Zenpage doesn't send a scheduled SMS reminder the day before the appointment. The automatic reminder is done by email, through automations. You define the delay, for example one day before each appointment, and the text. How it works is detailed in our article on automations.
If your clients respond better to SMS, keep in mind that the SMS confirmation arrives right at booking, which already covers part of the need. A day-before SMS reminder remains to be organized by hand for now.
Reminders and no-shows
A well-placed reminder reduces no-shows, but doesn't eliminate them. Combine it with a clear cancellation policy and tracking of missed appointments, as explained in our dedicated article.

Settings and message templates are described in the automations documentation. For video calls and their links, read our guide to video.
