Closing your calendar during holidays: closed days and existing appointments
Block your time off, a public holiday or a training day in Zenpage in one click, understand what happens to appointments already booked, and warn your clients.

Going away for a week or closing a Friday for a training day shouldn't force you to deactivate your page. Zenpage lets you block specific dates, which no longer appear to clients. Here is how to proceed, and above all what happens with appointments already booked.
Block a day, in one click
Open the settings, Holidays tab, titled "Add closed days". The calendar shows the days of the month. Click a date to close it: it turns terracotta in the legend. Click again to reopen it. The change is saved right away, with no button to confirm.
The "Upcoming closed days" list summarizes the dates ahead. Past days stay collapsed, to keep the list readable.
Close your time off as soon as it is fixed, even far in advance. Otherwise, a client may book a slot that will ultimately not be kept.
Appointments already booked
This is the most important point. Closing a day blocks new bookings, but does not cancel existing appointments. Before closing, look at your calendar for the period: move or cancel the sessions concerned, and write to each client. Zenpage does not do this for you.
Several practitioners
If you work in a team, each member manages their own time off. Your closed days don't stop a colleague from seeing clients that day, and vice versa. Each practitioner's rules are explained in our guide to locations and practitioners.
A reminder on the Calendars, Hours and Appointments pages
So you don't forget to block a date, a "Time off, public holiday, training?" banner appears on the Calendars, Hours and Appointments pages. It links directly to the Holidays tab, right where you look to block a date.
Inform your clients
A short message is enough: the closing date, the return date and a pointer for any emergencies, if you refer them. Send it in advance, by email or on your website. An informed client doesn't find themselves facing a closed door.

To change your hours without blocking a date, read our guide to hours and breaks. Calendar settings are detailed in the calendar documentation, Holidays section.
Frequently asked questions
Are appointments already booked cancelled when I close a day?
No. Blocking a day only prevents new bookings. Existing appointments stay in your calendar: it's up to you to move or cancel them, and to warn the clients concerned.
If I have colleagues, does my time off block their calendar?
No. Each team member can have their own time off. Only theirs applies to their slots, colleagues remain bookable.
Can I undo a closed day?
Yes. A click on the day reopens it. The change is saved immediately.
